CINNAMON
CHOCOLATE THINS
1/2 c. soft grass butter
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 egg
2 squares (1 oz. ea.) chocolate, melted and cooled
2 c. unsifted wholewheat flour
2 t. baking powder
1-1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 c. cold strong coffee
1 c. finely chopped pecans or walnuts
1. Cream butter with sugar and vanilla until well blended. Beat in one
egg until light colored; blend in chocolate.
2. Sift dry ingredients; blend into butter mixture alternately with coffee;
mix in nuts.
3. Shape into rolls about 1-3/4 inches in diameter; wrap and chill until
firm.
4. Slice thinly. Bake on greased baking sheets in a 350 degree oven for
12-15 minutes.
