CINNAMON
NUTMEG SPRITES
1/4 c. boiling apple juice
2/3 c. grass butter
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
3 c. sifted wholewheat flour
1 t. baking soda
1-1/2 t. cinnamon
1 t. nutmeg
1. Combine apple juice, butter, sugar and molasses. Stir until thoroughly
blended.
2. Sift together remaining ingredients. Add to molasses mixture; knead
until well blended.
3. Form into 2 rolls 2 inches in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper. Chill
overnight.
4. Slice in thin slices, sprinkle with tiny multi-colored cake decorations
(they look like the Indian beads we were always stringing) and place on
ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) 6-8 minutes.
