This pudding when baked has a chocolate sauce on bottom and cake on
2 T. melted butter or margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
8 T. cocoa
1 t. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1-2/3 c. boiling water
1. Mix butter, 1/4 c. sugar and vanilla together.
2. Sift flour, 3 T. cocoa, baking powder and add alternately with milk
to first mixture; mix well and stir in nuts.
3. Mix together 1/4 c. sugar, 5 T. cocoa and boiling water. Turn into
a 10 x 6 x 2-inch baking dish or pan.
4. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls on top. Bake in moderate oven, 350°
, for 40-45 minutes. 5. Serve warm. Spoon out a portion of the cake and
cover with sauce. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
*When eaten cold, the chocolate sauce gets quite thick.
